Fundraiser Description:

The MFI Foundation asked the Make Fashion Clean (MFC Tie-Dye Inc.) community for support with an unexpected renovation of its upcycling studio’s roof that was needed because of heavy rain. For this reason, MFC sought to fundraise $1600 to help the MFI Foundation re-open its studio to artisans for its upcycling activities that transform textile waste sent to Ghana from the Global North into upcycled tie-dye and denim products sold globally. All proceeds from the fundraiser directly supported the MFI Foundation’s renovation of its roof, electrical system, and rainwater catchment system with the goal of re-opening the studio in March 2024. The fundraiser was launched in January and reached its goal completed on March 1. The renovation occurred in late February and March and was completed by the end of March.
