Update from MFC on Our Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic

The MFC Board of Directors and leaders of the MFI Foundation in Ghana have been in close communication as the world responds to COVID-19.

In line with recommendations to practice social distancing, the MFI Foundation studio has temporarily closed, as of March 16.

In addition to the four MFI artisans who regularly work from home, the other studio employees have shifted to this work-from-home model. During this time, artisans will continue to make fabric beads and denim art from home. All MFI employee wages and benefits are continuing uninterrupted.

As we (and the rest of our communities) transition to this new normal, we will continue to communicate with you, our supporters, about the ways you can support our work. We look forward to introducing you to MFC’s new line of upcycled denim products later this year.

In this moment, it is apparent that our global community is connected -- and moving forward, maintaining meaningful creative ties around the globe will prove more important now than ever.

Sincerely,

Ava, Chika, Dielle, Julia & Sarah
